Veterans' Respite The American Heroes Return MTP program is a cutting edge, out-of-the-box solutions to supporting the active duty military and veterans in transition, including post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) recovery and the institutional support process. Country Living Respite Of particular interest to AHR is the supportive living environment for veterans, especially the PTSD outpatient. It is counter-productive to place a veteran who is dealing with PTSD recovery in to shelters and other living options designed for and populated with those recovering from drug addiction, managing mental psychosis, and a range of other issues. And a PTSD recovering veteran who attempts to live at home with family can be just as detrimental, not only to the veteran but to the entire family.
Camp Hero, West Virginia Having a respite for our Heroes Program is awesome, that means every dollar donated, every building placed, is there to serve our veterans for years to come. As you know, last year we were gifted 28 acres that extends from the creek below to the mountain top.
The current drive is to refurbish the cabin home as a base of operations where the first transitional veterans can regroup, unwind, and restore. The calls are already coming in from veterans groups that would like to bring their heroes for a week of quite, restful team experience.
Partnering A great program is built on strong ties and networking to others who also have the veteran's best interest in mind and provide services to compliment ours, and ours to compliment theirs.
